I love using the blogs, etc. The thing that I find sad is that so many people are not participating. Using a blog for work is a wonderful tool. ...too bad I can't seem to get anyone excited about using the one I created. I even figured out how to make it "private" because they were so worried about privacy. Oh well, I will continue to use social media to communicate and maybe someday the others will follow suit.

Great post, Kevin!

I keep hearing (from people who have never used social media) that they don't tweet or use FB because "I just don't CARE..." about whatever lame status report they feel is unimportant. Not only do I think they're missing out, it makes me wonder just a little bit when being an uncaring person because a good thing. Like you, Facebook and Twitter have given me the opportunity to help out - or at least send good wishes - in situations I wouldn't have even known about otherwise.

I value knowing the "stupid" things my friends post. (And when I recently had minor surgery, I also valued the good wishes I got through my social media sites.)
