Just over a month. That is how long it has been since I last posted. Wow.
Week one I was cramming, getting ready for vacation.
Week two was spent on the Oregon coast with my family. It was COMPLETELY relaxing and filled me up. We were in the 4th of July parade (officially a ‘walk-along’ because if this small town did an official ‘parade’ they would have to get a permit!). We surfed at Pacific City and climbed the dunes, climbed Proposal Rock, played in the surf, golfed, napped, ate at our favorite restaurants and stayed up late playing games. And, to get ready for the next week, I had to get a few bike rides in!

During Week three I took 12 Boy Scouts and 10 leaders on a 200 mile bike trek from Seaside Oregon to Florence via Oregon Coast Hwy 101. It was absolutely stunning, challenging and one of the best adventure weeks I have taken. If you are anywhere near the NW, I highly encourage you to try it! My son crashed on the morning of the second day (going downhill about 30mph) and had to get a couple stitches (luckily that was all). Stats: 7 near death experiences, 6 crashes, 13 flat tires, 8 boys lost 9 blood drawings; 2 stitches, 2 hit by a car, 2 ER visits, 1 stroke and 5 boys puked on our salmon fishing trip out of Newport. We also included surfing, sand boarding, swimming in a lake and all the food you can eat. I actually GAINED 2 pounds that week. Unbelievable! Even after all the stats, every single person came back saying that this was the best week they have had.

Week four, last week, was playing catch up. So, in those weeks there wasn’t a post here, very little activity on Twitter or even on email. And tomorrow I head out for Alabama to look at more social learning opportunities. More about that later.
Now, back into the swing of things. It was nice getting a break. I promise more will be coming.
Looks like Dave Wilkins was in a similar position. No posting, but not because of vacation, but because of his new job. They have totally burried him. Good for them!
