Social Media Challenge – Final Post

If you have joined us over the last seven weeks you have been taken on a Social Media & Networking journey – learning some of the basics.

TO DO – FINAL POST

What have you learned?  What has been of the most value?  What benefits have you seen of these technologies?  Have you changed any habits to incorporate them?  I would love to hear from you.

Please write a blog post of your experience and add the link to the comments of this post so we can all learn from you.

If you work as NASA MSFC and would like to be in the drawing for a lunch with Center Director Robert Lightfoot, you must write a blog post and add the link to your post in the comments of this post by the end of the year, December 31st.  Winners will be announced the first week of January.

Did you miss a week or two?  These will always be available, so feel free to come back when you have the time.

Thanks for taking the Challenge!

This has been great exercise for me personally. A lot of people have given their input, which has shaped these posts.  Thanks to all for your excellent feedback.

(And now, back to the regularly scheduled program…)

This was a great learning experience. I am impressed by the many methods to connect with people and information. The social bookmarking is especially useful for research and learning. I would like to see Kevins daily program schedule to learn how he uses these tools in an efficient and strategic way for work and learning. Thanks Kevin – the learning method was teriffic!

I incorporated a blog into my daily work routine, unfortunely, my co-workers are not paying much attention to it. :( The blog is private so that it stays within the group. My plan is to continue using the blog and not give up on my co-workers.

In a handful of posts, the Challenge has provided a delightfully non-rocket science overview of what Social Media really is and of its possibilities beyond being a “marvelous toy”. The Common Craft videos are fantastic!

The material has been invaluable in preparing two white papers that I’m writing – one on the use of Web 2.0 for engineering support, and one on its use for real time flight operations.

It would be great to see the Challenge repackaged as a Social Media Primer. (Will email with a few more details.)
