Why Are You Yelling at Me? Matching Your Voice in a Social Network

Sen. Lieberman, Kyl, Bayh, And Landrieu Introduce The Iran Sanctions Bill

To get your point across and be understood:

You wouldn’t yell inside a library.

You wouldn’t laugh hysterically in the middle of a church service.

You wouldn’t whisper at a football game.

You wouldn’t, with a scowl on your face, angrily say, “I do” when you get married.

Why then, on a social site, would you write the Social Media Guidelines in a dictator-like, controlling tone?
